About Us

About us

The Manna Project is a food pantry that serves Nassau County and its adjacent communities. The Manna Project is an independent 501c3 food relief / anti-poverty non-profit organization.

Founded in 2020 and in active operation since August 2021, The Manna Project aspires to be one of only a few high-volume "super" food pantries serving Nassau County and its adjacent communities by connecting residents in need with healthy, nutritious foods. The Manna Project is not a typical food pantry. We come with a fresh vision and strategy for alleviating food insecurity and addressing the nutrition-related consequences of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. The Manna Project is the "link" between the foods available in the food banking system and our clients’ nutritional needs, particularly for individuals with pre-existing conditions and other diet-related health challenges. We achieve this by soliciting, collecting, and packaging food for distribution and by providing education related to nutrition, meal planning, grocery shopping, and food preparation. We have a nutritionist on our team who will help our clients who require special attention. The Manna Project strives to be a community-supported organization by partnering with local congregations, organizations, businesses, and individuals.
